Free speech

I have emailed John Howard. Here is a copy of what I said:I am very concerned about the anti-terrorism legislation. I am generally in agreement with Malcolm Fraser's speech. I am opposed to detention without charge and without any judicial review of the merits of the case. This is, in my opinion, a wrong as much as the terrorist threat. Two wrongs don't make a right.
I believe the way to deal with terrorism is to withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan. It would be good to keep the USA as our friend but they have become bullies and unworthy of our friendship. When our alliance with the USA is ended, our neighbours and friends further afield will strengthen their support and our future will be more secure. We look foolish and vulnerable as we cling to a failing USA intoxicated by its military power.
Liberals lost my vote because of the Iraq invasion.
I will vote against Liberals because of the anti-terrorism legislation.
Liberals will regain my vote when you pull out of Iraq.
Thank you for this opportunity.
END
Isn't it wonderful to live in a country where one expects Free Speech. The message has been received in Canberra and I may get a reply by post.
If you never hear from me again, it is probably a coincidence.
I found the website I used with Google "Email Prime Minister Australia".
If you want a copy of Malcolm Fraser's speech, let me know.

I have learned alot from this government, most significantly that despite our support for the invasion of Iraq we are not a terrorist target - except when important Industrial relations legislation has to get through the senate.
